Recently, ImpactAVillage provided funds for tables and chairs for a remote school deep in the Amazon jungle. 138 children from seven Shawi villages walk 8-12 hours to a rustic cabin used as a school. The school didn’t have desks or chairs, and ImpactAVillage funded the purchase of the desks and chairs for the classroom.
Eda Zavala, a trained anthropologist and healer from Peru, worked closely with the Shawi people to help purchase and transport the tables and chairs via canoes and trucks. Eda helped the tribes balance modern education with ancient culture and languages.
