Letter from Eda Zavala about Progress with Shawi Tribe in Peru

Dearest Lisa,

I just want to share with you my last visitings to the Shawi villages. It was very intense hiking many hours, talking with the leaders, children and families and see directly all their efforts to being considering into the regional formal educational program. It represents a lot of work and logistics but I realize that the most important role that Impact A Village and I are doing in these long two years is that we opened an incredible opportunity for our beloved indigenous children to approach to the “formal society” and government and that thanks to our work we created an incredible chance for the government to be really inclusive and operate regarding a quality cross cultural bilingual education.

Impact A Village does not only improve rural school conditions related to materials, furniture and logistic aspects. Impact A Village contributes tremendously to improve quality education. Our presence has been a key to introduce to each others, indigenous people, teachers, directors and local authorities to make possible new and positive ways regarding and directing the future of these kids whose main component is Education. We did it before and we do it now reinforcing and working together and being co-creative. My last meetings with Indigenous People, teachers and leaders in their communities and with directors and local educational authorities in the city showed me that and I am so proud of our work and our team. We are building an incredible opportunity for Shawi People and we get there thanks to Impact A Village and you.

I just want to express my profound gratitude to you and ImpactA Village and your incredible support to Shawi People. Leaders and teachers are very aware about that and they feel happy and content because they see that your lovely goes directly to their children who represent Hope.

Please extend my gratitude to all ImpactA Village bord of Directors and let them know that I stand and honor their lovely support.

Thanks so much again and wishing to you and ImpactA Village a very happy holidays.

With Love and Gratitude,

Eda
